When you record the type of smart, catchy songs Mat Kearney cut for his 2006 album Nothing Left to Lose, you end up spending a lot of time on the road. And after that album’s title track throttled up the charts, that’s exactly what Kearney did. Three years later, he returns with City of Black & White, an album informed by the traveling, performing and adventuring the Oregon-born, Nashville-based singer did while supporting his breakthrough album. An open-hearted album of self-discovery, City of Black & White is a chronicle of the people he met and missed during that journey. Musically, it’s an upping of the ante, laced with hooks and rhythms that are meant to sneak up on you quietly and quickly, en route to winning your love.

Early in 2007, producer Rob Cavallo asked Shinedown frontman Brent Smith about his goals for the band's new album. Smith didn't hesitate.
"I said, 'You know what -- when I'm dead and gone, when everybody in this band has passed or what have you, I want the world to remember this as a record that needed to be made, and that there was a reason for it,' " Smith says. "That was the motivation behind this album.”
"And part of the reason it took so long to make!"
Welcome then to THE SOUND OF MADNESS, Shinedown's third album -- and the Florida rockers' boldest effort to date.

In
the Darwinian egosystem of rock ‘n' roll, survival depends on musical
instincts, and they don't come any keener than those of The Verve Pipe.
Since the early 90's, this formidable alliance of alpha males has
thrived by making music their way, with two indie and two RCA albums to
their credit. Some observers have had trouble categorizing The Verve
Pipe's music, mostly because the band itself has steadfastly refused to
be pinned down. However, fans have long understood what The Verve Pipe
is all about: great songs performed from the heart. That same
prescription holds true on UNDERNEATH, the band's new RCA album, and
their most upbeat to date.

The Eli Young Band’s music has all the hallmarks of youth: passion,
energy, excitement. The band’s story is the definition of commitment: years spent
honing its sound while building up to their first national album launch.
The band combined a range of elements—vocalist Mike Eli’s ingratiating resonance,
guitarist James Young’s elastic bag of sounds, bass player Jon Jones’ inventive
foundation and drummer Chris Thompson’s energetic propulsion—to create a 12-song
CD that paints even the difficult turns in life with an underlying optimism.
“That’s been a theme through a lot of our music,” Jones observes. “It might be raining
today, but it might be sunny tomorrow, so it’s worth sticking around for.”

Rarely does a rock band combine explosive guitars with an intense longing for meaning. Jon Foreman and Switchfoot, however, yearn for something more than what pop-culture is selling. "If I'm content as an artist to write a hit song or have a platinum record, then I'll have failed a lot of my fellow human beings," says Foreman. "We have the best jobs in the world because we play music for a living and love doing it, but we didn't get into this to try and sell something. For us, it's about communicating and connecting with people on a different level."

Tickets go on sale Friday, December 4 at 10 AM CST! This is an All Ages show. Edwin McCain is happy. Life's been good to him and he is very much obliged. Millions of albums sold. Hit songs that never leave the radio airwaves. An unwavering fanbase that keeps him on tour more days out of the year than not. And - surprising even Edwin himself - not one, but two of the most enduring wedding songs on the circuit, his earnest and soulful delivery unlikely standouts amongst all the other contrived wedding fare. So when it came to recording a new album, Edwin wanted to share the songs he loves and that make him happy, hoping listeners will take a few moments along the way to discover, rediscover and savor some of the best vintage soul and R&B songs ever written.

In the state of Minnesota lies a small town called Owatonna with roughly twenty-two thousand inhabitants. Within that city is a quiet road with a modest house. In that house there’s an unkempt basement with no windows. Within those confines you’ll find Adam Young of Owl City hard at work on his electronic and melodically infectious music of simple and singular beauty. Inside this “cave,” as Adam likes to describe it, he has begun to quickly win over a large audience thirsty for something genuine, something sublime. The proof is in the music as Owl City’s first official CD – Ocean Eyes – was released July 21st, 2009 and debuted at #27 on the Billboard Top 200, #2 on Billboard’s Electronic Albums chart and #3 on the Digital Albums Chart.
